Description :
This historic trail, begun in 1865 by Edgar Dewdney, was
the main route through this area until it was replaced in the 1920's by
the Cascade Highway (Santa Rosa Road). Beyond the 15 kilometers maintained
by the Boundary Forest District, the trail continues another 24 km to
Sheep Creek near Rossland. Look for white and green Dewdney trail signs,
as well as reflective orange diamonds. This trail crosses several areas
of private land. Please ensure continued use of these lands by staying
on marked trails and not littering.
