Kootenay Lake Ferries (Balfour & Kootenay Bay)

Looking for an alternate scenic route to or from Christina Lake? Highway 3A from Creston in the east or Nelson in the west delights the eye with a scenic tour of Kootenay Lake. The Kootenay Lake Ferry links this highway at Kootenay Bay and Balfour. This detour trip will add extra travelling time but well worth the delay.

Arrow Lakes Ferries (Galena Bay, Shelter Bay, Needles & Farquier)

Another route well worth the trip is Highway 23 From Revelstoke across Arrow Lake on the Arrow Lake Ferry. When you arrive at Shelter Bay, follow Highway 23 until Nakusp and then along Highway 6 to Castlegar. The scenery will not disappoint.
